In today’s time there are some
very well known sofa companies using engineered wood as compared to solid wood,
claiming that they are a better alternate as compared to its counterpart
plywood.
Let us first understand, what is
engineered wood?
Engineered
wood is a wood that includes a range of derivative wood products which are
engineered and manufactured by fixing the strands. Engineered wood is also
known as mass timber, composite wood, man-made wood, or manufactured board.
Why engineered wood is a better alternate?
Here
are the reasons they give: -
Durability: Engineered wood is durable as compared to solid wood, but it needs
to be a good quality one. Marine ply is most suited for use in kitchens and
bathrooms.
Moisture resistant: A good quality engineered wood is moisture
resistant which increase its durability.
For modern use: A good quality engineered wood can have a fine
use in the modern modular kitchens, bookshelves, & wardrobes. They can get
finished with veneers or laminates.
